The Weizmann Institute is an internationally acclaimed research facility specialising in protein production and cryo-electron microscopy.
The Dana and Yossie Hollander Center for Structural Proteomics (ISPC) within the Weizmann Institute uses varying structural determination techniques to advance the fundamental understanding of the human body. They offer a variety of services including protein production of not just mammalian cells but bacterial and baculovirus, along with CryoSTEM and CryoTEM imaging and tomography, and crystallization screening.
The ISPC is engaged in developing new methodologies and implementing of state-of-the-art technologies to deal with challenging scientific questions. The centre also provides consultation and guidance to scientists at all stages of the pipeline.
The Weizmann Institute is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary research institutions. Prof. Ada Yonath from the Department of Structural Biology received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009 for deciphering the structure of the ribosome.

Protein production in bacteria, baculovirus, and mammalian cells. Proteins are typically purified following a standard 3 step protocol which includes: affinity capture, ion exchange and size exclusion. Specific techniques can be employed depending on the protein, the experimental requirements, tags and yields. Removal of tags with TEV protease can be employed.
