IGBMC is hiring an engineer to work on the development and implementation of technologies for the production and purification of protein/ multi protein complexes in eukaryotic systems for structural studies. The activities of the engineer will be oriented towards user support within the framework of the national infrastructure FRISBI and European Instruct-ERIC.

Activities
-Produce proteins and recombinant complexes using eukaryotic expression systems (insect cells and mammalian cells)
-Purify macromolecular complexes for structural biology studies
-Ensure technology monitoring for protein/recombinant complexes production
-Participate in a technological development project in cell line engineering for protein labelling (genome editing for the establishment and characterization of knocked-in cell lines).
-Train platform users.

Skills
-In-depth knowledge in cell culture for protein production (ideally experience with the baculovirus expression system and transitory transfection)
-In-depth knowledge of protein biochemistry and techniques for purifying biological macromolecules (Western blot, immunoprecipitation, affinity chromatography).
-In-depth knowledge in molecular biology (in silico construct design, plasmids preparation, expression vectors construction,…)
-Preparation of experience reports and presentation of results
-Office tools, software for the design, control and archiving of constructs and for the preparation of reports
-Good technical English skills
-Interpersonal skills and teamwork
