An exciting postdoctoral opportunity is available for a structural biologist with an interest in cancer immunology. Recent clinical trials have shown that antibodies targeting inhibitory receptors of the immune system can induce durable responses in patients with metastatic disease. Our lab has developed a novel approach to isolate human antibodies from long-term survivors following immunotherapy. These patient-derived antibodies have striking biological activities in vitro and in vivo. The project has two major goals: 1. to determine the mechanism of action of these antibodies through crystallization of antibody-antigen complexes, 2. to utilize this structural information for the design of a novel cancer vaccine.
Requirements for this position are a recent PhD in structural biology and excellent skills in protein biochemistry.
