Research Assistant
Vienna, Austria
Application deadline: 14 Mar 2014
Applications are invited for a Research Technical Assistant Position in Structural Studies on Fcabs, Antibody Fragments with Antigen Binding Properties, at
Max.F.Perutz Laboratories.
Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are the most successful biologically produced therapeutics today. They are applied for the treatment of many different diseases, including cancer, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases. Within the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Antibody Engineering coordinated by Christian Obinger, new generations of engineered mAbs with improved properties are being developed. Constant domains (Fc) of human IgG1 are engineered by an integrated set of approaches to (i) enhance their stability and folding, and (ii) introduce Antigen Binding sites by engineering the non-CDR loops. Selected Fcabs will be characterized by various biophysical methods and their structures alone and/or in complex with selected antigens determined by X-ray crystallography.
As a Research Technician, you will be involved in protein production, purification, and biophysical characterization, crystallization and structure determination.
Please send your application, including a letter of interest, a detailed CV, and contact details for two references to
