The Protein Data Bank in Europe are looking to recruit an expert structural biologist, bioinformatician or cheminformatician to join the PDBe curation team. High-quality curation of new depositions is essential for PDB and EMDB to remain the authoritative global sources of biomacromolecular structure information.
The work involves annotating preliminary PDB and EMDB submissions and extracting relevant biological information. PDBe staff annotate more than a third of all PDB and EMDB depositions worldwide. The work will also involve analysis of structure data and enriching PDBe tools and services. The data curators also participate in developing training material and delivery of workshops and in outreach activities.
The candidate should have a PhD and a minimum 2 year’s work experience in structural biology, bioinformatics or cheminformatics and should demonstrate a working knowledge of small molecule chemistry and/or macromolecular structure, and ideally a broad knowledge in molecular biology or biochemistry.
